Skim Biasiswa Perkhidmatan Pentadbiran Brunei (For a Malay version)

Brunei Administrative Service Scholarship (BAS Scholarship) is a scholarship scheme that is offered by the Prime Minister's Office, Brunei to produce competitive graduates to work as Administrative Officers for the social services.

There are two types. One is for those students who want to take A level studies in the overseas and the other, which is more applicable to students in PTE Katok, is for those who want to take degree courses after completing their A levels. Selected high achievers will be offered to study in top universities (UK, Australia, America, Singapore and Canada).

Perspective students must be Brunei citizens, age of no more than 25 years old with a credit in Bahasa Melayu O Level. Students must also achieved a Grade A for English Language O Level. Other than that, students must obtained at least:

AAA (360 UCAS points) + a or
AAA (360 UCAS points) + b or
AAB (340 UCAS points) + a or
AAA (360 UCAS points) for their A levels.

[UCAS Tariff points: A = 120, B = 100, C = 80, D = 60, E = 40]

In addition to that, students must fulfill the following conditions:
i) Prepared to take courses that are decided by the Educational Officers in the Scholarship department (in Ministry of Education)
ii) Have never been committed in any discipline problems / crime
iii) Verified to be fit by the Ministry of Health

The duration of study ranges from 4 to 5 years depending on the courses chosen.

Students will have to either take:
i) a joint degree and later, a master degree in one of the subject area in the joint degree or
ii) a double degree in two different subject areas or
iii) a degree and then, a master degree in the same subject area

Apart from academic, chosen students must be involved in a three-stage Management Programme (MAP) that is run by the government: while studying, after he/she completed studies and after being appointed as an officer.
